About Ms. Weyhrauch
Dear Parents,
Welcome to first grade! I am excited to work with you and your child throughout this school year. There is a lot of learning and growing that is done in first grade, and I am committed to help your child succeed in a way that works best for him or her.
I would like to begin by telling you a little about myself. I grew up in the small town of Mapleton, Minnesota where I attended the Maple River School district. While teaching Sunday school during my sophomore year of high school, I realized that teaching was what I was meant to be doing! My passion for teaching continued and grew even more when I started school at Bethany Lutheran College (BLC). I graduated from BLC with a degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement in math and an Evangelical Lutheran Synod teaching certification. BLC was the perfect fit for me as I built positive relationships, learned from great professors, and grew as an individual overall. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing board games, camping, playing volleyball, reading, and playing piano.
My continual goal as a teacher is to foster an environment where students are loved and cared for and are given the opportunities to learn and experience the world around them in a safe and positive way. Once this foundation is set, students can begin to learn the content in school such as reading, music, writing, social studies, art, math, science, and physical education in an environment that is engaging, interactive, and conducive to their learning needs. With this goal, comes certain expectations for both my students and myself. As a first grade class, we will continually work on respecting ourselves, others, and property. We will also work on building positive relationships and communicating effectively with others.
It will be beneficial to work together as a team with you, your child, and the school staff. Throughout the year, I will provide you with newsletters that will keep you up to date on everything your child is learning. These newsletters will also have activities that you and your child can do to broaden your child’s learning even more. There will also be times where I will check in with you to make sure everything is going well. Lastly, please know that you can contact me with any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions that you may have. I am looking forward to meeting you and your child, and I am excited for the year ahead!
Sincerely,
Ms. Weyhrauch
